South Africa - The Harley safari
Using a collection of South Africa's finest properties this 5 night experience combines the trill of riding elephant back on safari through some of Africas best reserves with the contrast of riding one of the worlds sought after bikes.
Day 1
Arrive into Johannesburg where you will be met and transferred to your exclusive retreat the Saxon Hotel where you have the rest of the day to unwind and enjoy the facilities.
Day 2
Following a sumptuous breakfast, get astride your Harley-Davison and start your exclusive Harley Safari experience. Your guide will lead you along the route to your next destination – Camp Jabulani. Excellent quality roads, beautiful scenery and a delicious lunch en-route are guaranteed.
Day 3 and 4
Days will be spent on elephant back, during early morning and late afternoon safaris; on game drives with an experienced and entertaining ranger (viewing Africa’s Big Five, and much more); in the open-air spa facility; or simply around the private plunge pool overlooking the bush and a dry river bed.
A visit will also be arranged to the world-renowned Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre to interact with cheetah, and other endangered species. Orphaned and injured animals are also brought to the Centre for rehabilitation. This is an experience guaranteed to stir the conservationist within.
On one morning meet before sunrise and enjoy a piping-hot coffee while you watch your eight-storey balloon being inflated and prepared for flight. Experience the magic of lighter-than-air flight over the private reserve.
Day 5
Guests and Harleys depart from Camp Jabulani in the direction of the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range.
From the Lowveld (250 metres above sea level), the scenic route winds upwards to higher than 1800m above sea level. It is here that we find Walkerson’s Hotel, voted one of the Africa’s best hotels – nestled within South Africa’s trout fishing highlands. Overnight at Walkerson’s Hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6
Depart with the “wind beneath your wings” for Johannesburg where your Harley on Safari reaches its end.
