Passion of Opera in Verona
If you like dramatic settings it does not get more powerful than attending Opera in the 1st Century built Arena di Verona. Combined with the food and wine of the area and a private visit of Garda island in Lake Garda you cannot fail but feel uplifted.
DAY 1: Fly to Verona. Private transfer from airport. Afternoon at leisure.
After a private transfer to your hotel from the airport you have the afternoon free to explore the many Piazza’s and character full parts of the old town of Verona. Tonight you will walk to dinner to dine in one of the elegant restaurants of Verona where you can have a private room for
your group.
DAY 2: Wine tasting & dinner at Ante Prima Opera, Opera, half day private visit to 18th Century Villa and vineyards for wine-tasting.
Your private guide will transfer you to a marvellous 18th Century villa surrounded by wooded slopes and beautiful vineyards. Here you will visit its hall with frescoes, see the room where the grapes are withered, wander around a little wine museum and see the large cellars with its old barrels and the distillery. Afterwards there will be a tasting of 3 wines with some local delights. On the way back to Verona you will stop at an agri-tourism farm for lunch.
This evening you will attend the Opera with dinner and wine tasting beforehand at the Ante Prima Opera. Here you can enjoy a musical interlude at the piano as two artists introduce you to the opera you will be seeing later on.
After dinner you will enjoy the highlight of the trip – one of the most famous cultural events in the world: the Opera at the Arena di Verona which is one of the most dramatic places in the world to enjoy a night at the Opera. Situated in Piazza Bra the amphitheatre was built in the 1st century AD by Claudius and its elliptical shape produces perfect acoustics from every point in the arena.
DAY 3: Visit Lake Garda and see beautiful villages, islands and taste typical wines and local products.
You will be picked up at the hotel to take a private roofed motorboat to visit the Garda Island. This magnificent privately owned island with its splendid house and gardens opens its doors to a limited number of people each summer and really is a precious jewel with plenty of history. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to taste some local products before transferring by private motorboat to Sirmione for lunch and to visit the charming peninsula. Your transport will take you straight to the airport for your late afternoon flight home.
